Inspect before sheathing or drywall is installed. Check every header, every corner, and every bracing location against the structural drawings. Mark defects for correction. Do not approve covering until all items pass.
A quality inspection form for building inspectors and site supervisors verifying structural framing before walls are covered with sheathing or interior finishes. Covers wall layout accuracy, stud spacing and size, header sizing over openings, bracing and shear wall requirements, floor and roof framing connections, fastener patterns, and fire-stopping — the structural skeleton that must be right before it's hidden forever.
Framing errors hidden behind drywall create problems that range from cosmetic (cracked walls from undersized headers) to catastrophic (structural failure from missing bracing). This inspection is the last opportunity to verify the structure before it's concealed. Every stud, header, and connection must be checked now.
