Covers substrate preparation, vapour barrier installation, insulation placement and thickness, membrane or covering application, flashing installation at edges and penetrations, drainage system installation, and overall workmanship assessment against the specification and manufacturer's requirements.
Roofing defects are expensive to correct once the building is occupied and often don't reveal themselves until the first heavy rain — by which time the roof is covered by cladding and interior fit-out. Stage inspections during installation catch defective work when it can still be corrected without stripping completed layers.
