Record odometer at the start and end of each day. Note the purpose of each trip. Distinguish between business and personal mileage if required. Submit monthly for reconciliation.
A daily mileage tracking log for fleet drivers recording odometer readings at the start and end of each day or trip. Captures vehicle identification, start and end odometer, daily distance, trip purpose, route taken, and driver — the data needed for fleet utilisation analysis, driver expense reconciliation, and vehicle replacement planning based on actual usage patterns.
Mileage records serve multiple purposes: tax deductions for business mileage, lease agreement compliance, warranty claim support, service scheduling, and fleet utilisation analysis. A vehicle driven 80,000 km per year needs replacing sooner than one driven 20,000 km — but without mileage records, both look the same on the asset register.
