OSHA-required daily pre-shift forklift inspection covering visual walk-around and operational checks.
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7) requires that powered industrial trucks be examined before being placed in service each day. This checklist covers the visual and operational checks every operator must perform — tires, forks, mast, hydraulics, brakes, steering, lights, horn, battery/propane, and safety devices.
Documented daily inspections demonstrate OSHA compliance and create a maintenance history that supports early detection of developing faults. Defective trucks must be removed from service until repaired.
