DSE workstation self-assessment covering monitor, chair, desk, keyboard, mouse, lighting, and environment per HSE guidance.
Employers have a legal duty under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 to assess DSE workstations for all habitual users. This assessment covers the standard HSE checklist areas: display screen position, keyboard and mouse setup, chair adjustment, desk space, lighting, glare, noise, temperature, and software usability.
Assessments should be completed when an employee starts, changes workstation, or reports discomfort. Documented assessments demonstrate compliance during HSE visits and help prevent musculoskeletal disorders.
