Conduct quarterly. Walk all work areas, welfare facilities, and traffic routes. Consult health and safety representatives. Fix immediate hazards on the spot.
A general workplace inspection form for managers and health and safety representatives assessing compliance with the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992. Covers the physical working environment — temperature, ventilation, lighting, floor condition, workstation ergonomics, traffic routes, and welfare facilities including toilets, washing, drinking water, rest areas, and changing rooms.
These regulations set the basic standards for all workplaces. HSE inspectors assess these conditions during both proactive and reactive visits. Regular self-inspection identifies deteriorating conditions before they cause injuries or trigger enforcement notices.
