Complete at the end of every driving day. Walk around the vehicle. Report any new damage or defect. Do not leave a known defect unreported.
An end-of-day inspection form for fleet drivers and delivery operators reporting the condition of their vehicle after completing the day's routes. Covers exterior damage check, fluid levels, tire condition, lighting function, interior cleanliness, mileage recording, and defect reporting — the information the maintenance team needs to schedule overnight repairs and ensure the vehicle is ready for the next day.
Post-trip inspections are the counterpart to pre-trip checks. They catch damage that occurred during the day, identify developing mechanical issues while they're still minor, and create accountability for vehicle condition. A defect reported at 5 PM can be fixed overnight; a defect discovered at 6 AM delays the next day's first delivery.
