Systematic inspection checklist for vessel life-saving equipment covering lifeboats, rafts, PFDs, and distress signals.
Life-saving equipment must be ready for immediate use — there is no time to troubleshoot during an emergency at sea. This checklist provides a systematic inspection of all lifesaving equipment per USCG 46 CFR requirements: lifeboats, life rafts, PFDs, immersion suits, EPIRBs, SARTs, visual distress signals, and line-throwing apparatus.
Regular LSA inspections are required under USCG regulations and the vessel's SMS. Completed checklists demonstrate compliance during Coast Guard inspections and port state control examinations.
