Mileage records serve multiple purposes: tax deductions for business mileage, lease agreement compliance, warranty claim support, service scheduling, and fleet utilisation analysis. A vehicle driven 80,000 km per year needs replacing sooner than one driven 20,000 km — but without mileage records, both look the same on the asset register.
