When a product, material, or process deviates from specification, a non-conformance report captures the deviation, determines its impact, and drives corrective action. This NCR form covers defect description, quantity affected, severity classification, immediate disposition (use-as-is, rework, scrap, return), root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and quality sign-off.
A robust NCR system is required by ISO 9001 and most industry quality standards. Completed reports feed trend analysis and demonstrate that the quality system catches and corrects deviations.
