Life-saving equipment must be ready for immediate use — there is no time to troubleshoot during an emergency at sea. This checklist provides a systematic inspection of all LSA equipment: lifeboats, life rafts, life jackets, immersion suits, EPIRBs, SARTs, pyrotechnics, and line-throwing apparatus.
Monthly and quarterly LSA inspections are required under SOLAS Chapter III and ISM Code requirements. Completed checklists demonstrate compliance during port state control inspections and flag state audits.
